Acne
Acne is caused by dysfunction of sebaceous flanda and hair follicles, which is frequently associated with hormonal imbalance of the body. The opening of the hair follicle becomes closed due to excessive of production of sebum and forms an occlusion, which leads to an increased inside pressure and multiplication of bacteria leading to inflammation, which consequently shows on the surface of skin as an inflammatory reaction.
The treatment of acne can include hormonal therapy, antibiotics, education about correct nutrition and possible supplements, which can cure some mild cases and improve some worse patients. In Asklepion we offer to clients many dermatological preparations, as e.g. Sebium, developed specifically for skin conditions with acne. The application of Le Masque de Laser Asklepio, the laser gel mask, is very successful specifically in combination with biostimulatory laser Maestro, which cleans the skin and helps it to regenerate.
A similar effect is achieved with biostimulatory light Omnilux, whose red light helps to heal inflamed areas very quickly. Excellent results are also with the use of the blue spectrum, which helps to destroy bacteria and inhibits inflammation. With chemical peeling (fruit acid in concentration of 40–70%) the surface of skin is irritated and afterwards neutralized. This procedure can be used once in a more radical way or as a series of more gentle peelings. The thickened horn-like parts of skin disappear and help further progression of new cells.
The preparation Roacutan is very effective, has long lasting effects, but on the other hand also a lot of side effects. It cannot be used two years before conception and throughout pregnancy. This is the main reason for its infrequent use in this clinic. Laser Smoothbeam – penetrates with its rays directly into inflamed sebaceous glands, changes the altered structure to healthy glands, which have normal volume and the production acne is stopped. On the back, where the frequency of sebaceous glands is less and much higher energy can be used, the method after three sessions is 98–100% successful. For the face, four or five treatments are required. After the first treatment there is usually 50–60 % improvement. The individual therapies should be about 3–5 weeks apart. To speed up the results there can be one additional therapy with laser Vbeam.
With the Smoothbeam it is also possible to correct the residual scarring caused by acne. After this treatment it is necessary to protect complexion against sun rays, e.g. with Photoderm, which is on offer to all our clients in Asklepion.
