Lips
A large proportion of women have not got ideal lips. The appearance of the mouth, and the lips is determined by genetics, but can be seriously distorted by accidents or disease. The worse effect on the shape of lips is due to age. The same principle of skin aging on cheeks affects lips which with time turn in and become smaller. They do not look young any more, and the whole expression of the face changes.
Asklepion offers all possibilities how to improve the shape and colour of lips. These range from plastic surgery, to methods using filling materials, and further to the best use of the right make-ups.
Cosmetics
It is essential for our clients to experiment and try our make-up artists’ skills and all varieties of our cosmetics, to discover which type of lips they really want. At Asklepion we use Dior cosmetics offering the widest variety of possible cosmetic corrections which frequently reach the ideal conclusion with only adequate help and the right products. Because of our specialized advice by well trained staff and the quality of products our clients often conclude that no further steps are required.
Filling materials
Filling materials, absorbable or not, firstly increase the volume of lips, but also change the shape. The former group is represented in Asklepion most frequently by hyaluronic acid (Restylane, Perlane, Juvederm). It is injected by a thin needle and fills spaces which need expansion. Unfortunately the body absorbs this in about 4 months and the process has to be repeated. The permanent enlargement is achieved by non-absorbable filling material such as Artecoll or Dermalive.
Local anaesthetic is sufficient for this procedure and the client can cooperate with the doctor about the details of their lips size. It should be appreciated that one day or two after the procedure the lips can look more swollen than their real size.
Plastic surgery
This procedure is used most frequently in clients after accidents or diseases.
Teeth
An extra paragraph required if describing the shaping of the lips should really be about the condition of the client’s teeth. The loss of any tooth, especially if not attended to for a long time, leads to changes of the jaw, the face and the lips and the only appropriate treatment, in reality, is the proper correction of those dental problems.
