Tooth decay
Tooth decay was always one of the commonest human ailments. The basic cause of decay is not genetic or related to sweets, but the inadequate oral hygiene. The multiplying bacteria in mouth create thin film on the surface of teeth, so called tooth plaque. If the plaque is not removed the acids produced by bacteria, start to dissolve the hard dentine. Any beautiful face can be affected by the loss of smile due to progressive tooth decay.

The preventive visit!
Tooth decay as such is frequently asymptomatic, despite it has to be removed as soon as possible. This is achieved by an early diagnosis during thorough preventive examination.
The oral hygiene!
There is some genetic predisposition for the quality of teeth and bacterial flora present in mouth, but the basic rule of oral hygiene is the regular removal of tooth plaque, which causes the decay. The clients are always surprised, how little is necessary to eliminate their problematic symptoms.
The bitewing!
Up to 80% of decays can be detected thanks only to the preventative examination technique called bitewing, or interproximal x-rays. This equipment shows specifically small damage of enamel or dentine from the early stages in between teeth. It also discovers the majority of caries under the fillings.
The intraoral camera!
We like to explain to patients the details of their dental problem and we can do this in all dental rooms with the help of intraoral cameras. The patient can watch on the screen not only the pathology leading to diagnosis but the steps of decision making for the right treatment.
Caries detector!
The removal of tissue damaged by the decay is reliably detected with a special dye – Kariesdetector. The risk of omitting caries under the filing is minimal with this method.
Diagnodent!
The next examination equipment used by our dentists is called Diagnodent, the laser instrument facilitating the diagnosis of caries mostly in oclusal fissures of molars.
The care for tooth canals and tooth pulp!
The toothache is due to the decay invading into the pulp and causing inflammation. At that time the tooth is already dead and the removal of the decay cannot help any more. The subsequent procedure required would be so called root canal therapy.
